Privacy notice

Read this notice before sharing personal information with the evidence desk.

Who is responsible

Junglereelbiscuit Research Media Ltd, 18 Station Road, Reading, RG1 1JX, UK, company no. 15962841, is responsible for personal information it receives through editorial correspondence. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions.

Browsing and technical data

Delivering website files requires technical information such as an IP address and requested file address. Hosting infrastructure may process connection and security logs to operate and protect the service. The site’s own scripts do not implement advertising profiles, analytics tracking, external fonts or third-party embeds.

The local contact-note tool

Information entered into the note tool is processed in your browser. The supplied tool does not upload the fields, send an email or save the note in localStorage. Copying places the preview on your device’s clipboard; downloading creates a text file on your device. Your browser or operating system may independently retain form entries, clipboard content or downloads.

You decide whether to send a note using your email application. Once you do, your email provider and our email service process the correspondence under their applicable arrangements. Do not send sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for an editorial enquiry.

Correspondence and lawful basis

If you email us, we receive your address, the information you provide and associated email metadata. We use it to consider your enquiry, handle corrections and manage relevant records. Our usual basis is our legitimate interest in operating an educational publication and responding to correspondence. Legal obligations may require specific records to be retained.

Recipients and retention

Service providers supporting hosting, security and email may process information as needed for those services. We do not sell correspondence for advertising. We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, editorial accountability or applicable legal requirements, and review whether continuing retention is justified.

Where a provider processes information outside the UK, applicable data-protection transfer requirements must be addressed through an appropriate legal mechanism. Ask us if you need information about handling relevant to a specific enquiry.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing. Rights are not absolute, and we may need information to verify a request. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or another competent supervisory authority.
